Experience
I am a tutor with my experience in studying and teaching math and science. I am currently in the process of completing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Seattle Pacific University. I am comfortable tutoring students in calculus, trigonometry, and algebra. I am also able to tutor students in differential equations, geometry, physical science, chemistry, and physics. Though I can tutor students in a wide variety of areas, I prefer teaching physics and math. I am able to teach students at an elementary school, middle school, high school, and collegiate level. My philosophy as a tutor emphasizes taking an analytical approach to helping my students improve their science and math skills. I am confident in my ability to help every student comprehend difficult concepts in math. In addition to helping students improve in a topic they are already somewhat familiar with, I also enjoy assisting novice students. I tend to follow a four step process that involves identifying concepts that are problematic, developing a teaching method that is well-suited to the student's age and personality, working through the problematic concepts, and continuously checking back in with the student to ensure that they are really learning the subject. I love helping students comprehend difficult concepts. In my free time, I enjoy listening to and writing music, biking, crocheting, and swimming.
