EducationNew Saint Andrews College - BA, Liberal Arts and Culture
ExperienceTen years ago, I earned my bachelor's in Liberal Arts in Culture from the New Saint Andrews College, where I graduated summa cum laude. In my first five years out of college, I was a high school teacher of English lit and comp, history, and Latin. I also helped with SAT prep. When I became pregnant, I took a few years off from the classroom, turning my professional focus to one-on-one tutoring -- specifically in the areas of English and music. I'm now teaching English, Latin, and math to third through sixth graders at an elementary school. As always, whether in a classroom or tutoring, my goal is to inspire students to fall in love with learning and equip them with successful study skills. In addition to the topics listed above, I have experience teaching geography and religious studies. With regard to history, I can help with both American and European timelines.Outside of education, I like to write creative fiction (particularly stories about the Middle Ages or British Regency), play piano, and challenge my friends and family in games like Boggle. Also, my spouse and I both own a press business, where I help out with copy editing.
